Motorist arrested after head on collision

A motorist has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving following a head on collision at a notorious accident black spot at Culcheth near Warrington.

The collision involved two cars on Warrington Road outside the Thai Paragon restaurant last Saturday evening at around 6.30pm.

The four occupants of one of the cars, a Peugeot 206 were taken to Warrington hospital. None of the injuries are believed to have been serious.

The bend is notorious in the village and has guard rails, speed bumps and signage.

A 28-year-old man from Warrington has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving and has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Anyone who has any information which can help officers with their enquiries are asked to call 101 quoting incident number 731 of 21/5/2016
