LATCHFORD Albion Giants took the spoils in an entertaining derby clash at Woolston Rovers A on Saturday.

It was a hard-fought victory, but coach Sean Bond was happy with the 40-22 win.

He said: “The boys showed real character and control throughout the game against a bigger, experienced and more physical Woolston pack.

“Our game plan was to move their big pack around, tackle in numbers early and then execute with our speed, agility, and explosive acceleration at key points of the game. We were able to turn defensive pressure into attacking opportunity quickly, and our transitions were sharp.
“We focussed, particularly in the second half, to inject speed through the middle area to make breaks against a tiring defence. Our fitness and tempo gave us the edge today and we executed our game plan brilliantly.
“While it was a strong showing, we still have areas to work on. We move forward onto next week.”
Try scorers were Harrison Turner (2), Josh Barnard, River Cole, Theo Gabbott, Jack Harvey, Louis Norton with goals added from Gabbott (3) and Cole (1)

This Friday Albion host Clock Face Miners kick off 7.30pm
