POLICE have secured an extension on a house closure order at Hood Manor due to drug activity and also seized an off-road bike at Great Sankey, during action to tackle anti-social behaviour.

As part of Anti-Social Behaviour Week, officers from the Warrington West Beat Team have been taking part in several activities across the area to tackle anti-social behaviour within the community.
Insp Webster successfully applied for an extension to a house closure on an address in the Hood Manor area, which will mean that the property will remain closed for a further three months. The original closure was granted due to several complaints of anti-social behaviour and drug activity at the property.
Due to reports of illegal off-road bikes being used in and around the Great Sankey area, officers also targeted the area and PC Steele was able to stop an off-road electric bike that was being ridden illegally on the roads. The rider was also found to be in possession of cannabis. The male failed a roadside drug wipe; therefore, he was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs (Class B), driving with no licence and no insurance. He has now been charged with offences relating to driving and failing to provide.
PCSO Heaps has been liaising with Warrington Borough Council in relation to ASB on Old Alder Lane in Burtonwood. Warning signs have been placed at the entrance to Sankey Valley Park and the borough council will be arranging to thin out several bushes to help open the area up and increase visibility for members of the public walking on the footpaths.
Police have also teamed up with Your Housing Group staff to conduct an estate walkabout and a community drop-in session in the Old Hall area. They also visited a tenant who has been the cause of complaints from members of the community. Partnership working with housing associations helps police to take a more robust approach to anti-social behaviour within the community as they can collaborate on issues, tailoring interventions for specific areas of concern to residents.
As always, they will continue to tackle anti-social behaviour across the area.
