VIDEO & PICTURES: Hundreds of people took to the streets of Warrington for the town’s annual Walking Day.

Local churches and schools and community organisations were joined by marching bands, drum and pipe bands and drummers for the annual Walk of Witness.

The weather remained fine as Mayor of Warrington Cllr. Mo Hussain greeted walkers at the 152nd Warrington Walking Day before joining the walk himself.
The event started in 1873 as a distraction to the Newton Races.
While Walking Day is not as big as it was in the past, it still remains popular for many.
