It follows an announcement by Minister for Water and Flooding Emma Hardy MP that more than £2 billion in funding is being made availablke to build and maintain flood defences and improve flood resilience, with some specific decisions made next month.
Ms Hall said: “This afternoon in Parliament, Minister for Water and Flooding Emma Hardy MP gave a statement on the New Year Floods and subsequent flood warnings in place in the North West.
“Following my conversations with the Minister highlighting the situation in Warrington South she raised our unique position and the affect it has had on families in the Chamber.
“The Minister has committed more than £2 billion in funding to build and maintain flood defences and improve flood resilience with some specific decisions made next month.
“I will be fighting to secure this funding and will be meeting the Minister here in Warrington South at the earliest opportunity.
“I understand the importance of delivering a scheme that will protect constituents homes and I will do everything in my power to champion the need for defences and new measures here in Warrington South.
“Today, I have been speaking to constituents in affected areas and will continue to do so this evening.
“Water levels appear to be falling, however, there still remains a warning in place and I will be following this closely and providing updates when I have more information.
“A yellow weather warning for snow and ice remains in place this evening and rain is expected through the night.
“I am in frequent contact with partners including the Environment Agency, United Utilities and Warrington Borough Council and continue to report issues as they arise.
“Today I have placed additional requests for sandbags at properties in key areas and continue to offer support including food and cleaning supplies to those impacted by flooding.
“As ever if you need help or support please get in touch.”
