A 43-year-old local woman has been arrested following an alleged “hit-and-run” incident involving a car mounting the pavement and colliding with a teenager at Stockton Heath, Warrington, during the early hours of Sunday morning.
The 19-year-old male was struck while walking on the pavement near the steakhouse on London Road.
A spokesperson for Cheshire Police today confirmed: “At around 1.10 am on Sunday, June 29, police were called to reports of a collision on London Road, Stockton Heath.
“The caller reported that an Audi had mounted the curb and collided with a pedestrian near to the steakhouse.
“Officers attended the scene and found that the driver of the car had failed to stop.
“The pedestrian, a 19-year-old man, is not believed to have sustained life-changing injuries as a result of the collision.
“A 43-year-old local woman was later arrested on suspicion of failing to stop after a collision, dangerous driving, and failing to provide a breath specimen.
“The woman has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.”
