WARRINGTON Borough Council has given notive of various road works starting in the new year covering a period of up to 12 weeks.
The works are set to start from January 6th between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm and are for road or footway surfacing.
Warrington Borough Council has given notice it intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to introduce the following:
Prohibition of Driving & Clearway: Entire lengths of road: Hughes Avenue; Dorothea Street; Dudley Street; Buttermere Crescent; Honister Avenue; Part lengths of road: Marina Avenue from the junction with Liverpool Road to the break point in the road adjacent to George Road; Reaper Close from No. 61 to the junction with Payne Close; Mortimer Avenue from the junction with Lathom Avenue to the junction with West Avenue; Dudley Street full length of rear alleyway from Nos. 4 to 74; Hale Street from the junction with Longford Street to the junction with Fitzherbert Street; St. Mary’s Close from Chapel Road for 50 metres; St. Austell Close from the turning head for 50 metres.
The Order will be effective from 6th January 2025. The restrictions are for a period of 12 weeks, between 8:30am to 5:30pm, however, will be in place as and when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works. The alternative routes will be as follows: Marina Avenue via Liverpool Road, Hood Lane, Huntley Street, Malpas Drive Banbury Drive, Buckingham Drive and vice versa; Hughes Avenue via Festival Avenue, Capesthorne Road, Caldbeck Avenue and vice versa; Mortimer Avenue via Alder Lane, South Avenue, West Avenue and vice versa; Dorothea Street via Longford Street, Cowdell Street, Fitzherbert Street and vice versa; Dudley Street via Orford Lane, Longford Street, Earl Street and vice versa; Hale Street via Longford Street, Dorothea Street, West Avenue and vice versa; Honister Avenue via Kirkstone Avenue, Statham Avenue and vice versa. The restrictions are required for road or footway surfacing.
