A TORY candidate in the forthcoming Warrington Borough Council elections has withdrawn citing health problems.
Businessman Dean Bibby had been named as a candidate for the Culcheth, Glazebury and Croft ward in the elections due to take place on May 5.
Injuries he received in two separate road traffic accidents have not mended as quickly as he had hoped, he says..
He said: “Because of these problems with my health and after talking things through with my family I have decided to withdraw my application.”
It was only last month that Mr Bibby, along with existing councillor Sue Bland and Croft parish councillor Val Allen, was named as one of the Conservative team to fight the Culcheth, Glazebury and Croft seat.
A party spokesman said: “It is unfortunate that due to his health problems Dean has had to reconsider his application and has decided to withdraw as one of our candidates. We can only thank him for his interest and would wish him a speedy recovery. We will make an announcement shortly on a new candidate.”
