THE new police inspector for Warrington South has pledged to carry on the successful neighbourhood policing policy in the area.
Insp Sarah Heath, based at Stockton Heath Police Station, aims to follow in the footsteps of her predecessor, Inspector Gary McIntyre.
She said: “I feel very fortunate to be taking up the role of neighbourhood policing inspector in the Warrington South area and am very pleased to be moving back to the town to work.
“I feel proud to be working with such a dedicated and enthusiastic team of people who are passionate about tackling crime, disorder and anti-social behaviour and improving the quality of life of local residents.
“I am aware of the excellent work that has already taken place within the local community over the past few years and I will endeavour to maintain and build upon this success.
“I have been impressed to learn of some of the fantastic initiatives, which have been running in the area and I will continue to support and encourage the team in relation to these.
“Neighbourhood officers are achieving excellent results through effective community engagement and partnership working, ensuring that long-term solutions can be put in place to deal with specific problems.
“Together we can continue to work with residents to make a real difference to their quality of life.”
She added: “The local community plays an important role in neighbourhood policing by providing us with information and helping to set policing priorities. I would encourage the people of Warrington South to continue to do this and to let us know about any issues or concerns they might have in relation to their local area.
“They can do this by speaking to a local officer face-to-face, attending a local meeting, visiting the police station or contacting us by phone.
“My priority is to have a visible and accessible local policing team who are committed to serving the local community.”
Insp Heath joined Cheshire Police in 1999 and has worked in numerous roles including uniformed response, pro-active CID and the Divisional Drugs Unit.
Before moving to Stockton Heath she worked as a Sergeant as part of the neighbourhood policing team in Knutsford.
