Residents book hall for mini poll

TWO public spirited Warrington residents have booked a church hall to hold a public meeting on General Election issues.
Patrick Mullee – a former member of Stockton Heath Parish Council – and Gary Bebington have booked St Thomas’ Church Hall, Stockton Heath for Thursday, April 29 at 7.30pm
They have invited the Warrington South candidates of the three main parties – David Mowat (Conservative), Nick Bent (Labour) and Jo Crotty (Liberal Democrat) to take the platform and take questions.
Mr Mullee said: “We attended a public meeting organised by Friends of the Earth the other day but felt it was too political.
“Our meeting will be for Warrington South residents only and we want it to deal strictly with local issues. We are hoping to get about 100 people present with 20-30 undecided voters.
“Admission will be free and tea and biscuits will be provided. At the end of the debate we hope to hold a mini-poll to see if the candidates have managed to influence the undecided people.
“The meeting will be exactly a week before election day.”
Anyone interested in attending is asked to call Mr Mullee on 01925 601914 or Mr Bebington on 07779 106155.
