Weapons found as police seize drugs

  • WEAPONS and suspected drugs were seized by police when they raided three properties in Warrington.

    Substances believed to be class C drugs and two swords, a dagger and a large hunting knife were seized.

    The properties raided were in Admirals Road, Birchwood, Partridge Close, Birchwood and Vulcan Close, Padgate.

    A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis.

    He helped police with their enquiries for a day and has since received

    a caution for that offence.

    A 37-year-old man was also arrested – he was wanted on warrant for failing to appear at court.

    PC Chris Antoniou, of Warrington Police said: “We would like to thank

    members of the public who have come forward with information. This type

    of intelligence is invaluable and helps officers to gather vital

    evidence. We hope this sends out a clear message that this sort of

    behaviour will not be tolerated in our communities.

    “It is essential that we continue to work with the community to ensure that Warrington is a safer place for everyone.”

    PC Dan Packham added: “We hope this sends out a clear message that we

    will not tolerate drug use in our communities. We would urge the public

    to contact us with any information they have.”
