DO you feel passionate about your local healthcare services? Do you wish there was someone who could help people get the support they need?
That someone could be you by joining the Healthwatch Warrington Volunteer Team!
The past 2 years have been difficult for everybody trying access local health and social care services, with providers dealing with the effects of the pandemic which has left them with a backlog of appointments and long waiting lists for many. As the pandemic has eased, the NHS and other health and social care providers have prioritised working through the backlog of healthcare cases, but this will take time and is expected to be impacted by the cost of living crisis and an already stretched health service. This is where our Healthwatch volunteers can really help make a difference.
Volunteers are at the heart of what Healthwatch Warrington do, from talking to people about their experiences of health and social care, to writing reports, to updating our social media – volunteers are vital to our work. Whether you have a few hours to spare or are looking for a regular commitment, we’ve got a volunteering role to suit you:
- Virtual Voices Volunteers – Get involved by taking part in email polls, online questionnaires and surveys. (15 minutes per month)
- Peoples Panel Volunteers – Share your experience and understanding of Health and Social issues that are important to the residents of Warrington. (2hours per month)
- Enter and View Volunteers – Help observe health and social care services at the point of delivery; speaking with staff, patients, residents, relatives, and carers, and producing reports with recommendations to improve service delivery. (3hours per month)
- Events and Engagement Volunteers – Support Healthwatch Warrington at local and county-wide events.
