POLICE at Warrington have identified the human remains discovered on the banks of the Mersey as those of local woman Sara Kershaw.
The 61-year-old was last seen on August 26 2005 and had been reported missing from a local hospital.
Police used forensic dental analysis to identify the woman after workman discovered her remains on April 14. At first it was thought the skeletal remains were those of an animal but examination by forensic teams showed they were human.
Police are not treating the death as suspicious and the woman’s family has now been informed.
