A WARRINGTON woman picked up two batting awards at the annual prize presentation of the Cheshire Women’s Cricket League.
Emma Barlow, (pictured) who skippers the Appleton women’s team – and sometimes turns out in the men’s team as well – won the batting award in both the first division of the league and in the cup competitions.
She also received the Twenty20 Plate on behalf of the victorious Appleton Tigers team in the competition.
Appleton manager Sue Barlow – Emma’s Mum – received the President’s Award for sterling work as the League’s Junior Development Officer.
The Appleton club also picked up two other winners – Natalie Long won the cup cricket bowling prize and Tracy Jackson the cup cricket fielding prize.
The prizes were presented by guest-of-honour Lauren Griffiths, captain of the Cheshire Women’s team and a member of England’s World Cup winning side.
At the same ceremony, members of the Warrington Women’s Cricket team, which plays in the national league, also received awards. They were Dawn Prestidge (batting), Kate Skelhorn (bowling and player of the year.).
