CALLANDS Community Primary School has capped off a year of transformation by joining the Warrington Primary Academy Trust family.
Callands Community Primary officially joined the trust this week and changed its name to Callands Primary Academy to reflect its conversion to academy status.
The school becomes the ninth primary to join the trust, which runs schools in Warrington, Halton and Cheshire West and Chester.
Louise Smith, CEO of Warrington Primary Academy Trust (WPAT), said: “Callands Primary Academy has high aspirations for every pupil, and we are truly honoured to welcome the school into WPAT this week. Dedication and hard work has made Callands special, and we are looking forward to building on that and working together for the benefit of every child.”
Headteacher Siobhan Bentley said: “This partnership will enable our school to build on our successes and provide our children with a diverse range of opportunities to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. The support from WPAT, combined with the enthusiasm of our staff, children and the incredible community it serves, sets the stage for an exciting journey ahead.”
Chair of governors Nigel Spencer added: “This is a very exciting time for Callands to become part of the WPAT family. As the first primary school multi-academy trust formed in Warrington, WPAT has shown its commitment and desire to deliver the best possible outcomes for young people across our locality.
“As we at Callands have monitored the changing landscape of primary provision across our region, we have come to the firm conclusion that WPAT offers the best opportunity for all our pupils and families.”
