LOCAL woman Charlotte Bond has been selected to stand for Labour in the Warrington Borough Council by-election in Great Sankey North and Whittle Hall, on May 1 2025.
Charlotte, 23, lives in Great Sankey and works as a teaching assistant in secondary schools across the local area, often working with youngsters who have complex needs. She graduated in Politics and Internal Relations from Cambridge University. Describing herself as an ‘enthusiastic volunteer’, she is currently working towards a leadership qualification with Girl Guiding.
Charlotte said: “I’ve always valued being part of a community, both here in Warrington and when I was at university, where I was awarded a prize for my service in supporting state school kids into higher education. I’ve been a Labour supporter since I was a teenager and I’m looking forward to being your voice in the community as a Labour Councillor for Great Sankey North and Whittle Hall.’
“The Labour team here in Great Sankey North and Whittle Hall is already working hard to deliver local projects like Sankey Station renovation, community events, more school places and health services.
“I’d like to thank Janet Henshaw for her work in the ward and wish her well. I would love the opportunity to work alongside Cllr Hitesh Patel and Cllr Marcus Cameron – together we’re going to make a great team.”
Cllr Hans Mundry, Leader of the Council and the Labour Group in Warrington said: “Charlotte will be great addition to the Labour team in Warrington. I’ve already been impressed by her energy and ideas.”
A total of five candidates are contesting the seat.
