FIRE crews wore breathing apparatus to tackle a fire on the top floor of a three-storey house at Warrington.
The blaze was in a kitchen at the house in Manhatten Gardens, Great Sankey and is believed to have been caused by an unattended pan bursting into flames on the cooker.
There was damage to the cooker and kitchen units and smoke damage throughout the second floor.
Firefighters used a hosereel jet to extinguish the blaze and cleared smoke from the property with a ventilation unit.
No-one was hurt in the incident yesterday afternoon (Tuesday).
