Fashion shop to become takeaway

PROPOSALS for a hot food takeaway in the heart of Stockton Heath village have been given the go-ahead by Warrington planners despite nearly 200 objections.
The scheme involves a change of use of part of the Sarah Siddons fashion shop in London Road.
Development control chiefs approved the change despite opposition from Stockton Heath Parish Council, 20 other objections and a protest petition signed by 178 people.
The objectors argued the takeaway would lead to an increase in litter and anti-social behaviour, parking problems, waste management issues and a loss of vitality in the shopping centre.
There were also highway safety issues and arguments based on the number of existing takeaways in the village.
But planners decided the development met expected standards to protect amenity and that a takeway was an appropriate use for the location.
