Various road closures for up to 14 weeks at Stockton Heath for resurfacing works

VARIOUS road closures are set to take place in Stockton Heath, Warrington, over a period of up to 14 weeks for various resurfacing works.

The work on roads and footpaths is set to start from Monday, June 2nd, with local diversions in place.

Warrington Borough Council has made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which is to introduce the following:
Prohibition of Driving & Clearway: Entire lengths of road: Beech Road; Farrell Road; Algernon Street; Chadwick Avenue; Pike Street; Victoria Road; Warburton Street; Part length of road: Ellesmere Road from the junction with Osborne Road to the junction with Francis Road.
The Order will be effective from 2nd June 2025. The restrictions are for a period of 14 weeks, between 8:30am and 5:30pm, however, will be in place as and when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works.
The alternative routes will be as follows: Beech Road via Carlton Street, Cawdor Street, Farrell Road and vice versa; Farrell Road via Beech Road, Carlton Street, Cawdor Street and vice versa; Chadwick Avenue via Mill Lane, Ackers Lane, Limetree Avenue and vice versa; Ellesmere Road via Osborne Road, Stetchworth Road, Walton Heath Road, West Avenue, Francis Road and vice versa; Pike Street via Gaskell Street, Fairfield Road, Warburton Street and vice versa; Victoria Road via Grappenhall Road, Parkgate Road, Alexandra Road and vice versa or via Grappenhall Road, London Road, Fairfield Road, Alexandra Road and vice versa; Warburton Street via Pike Street, Gaskell Street, Fairfield Road and vice versa. The restrictions are required for road or footway surfacing.
