Below is a video of a recent fire in Westy, Latchford. This shows the impact and dangers fire poses to the local community, which leads to a large emergency service presence.

Last Tuesday, May 13, At 21:39 fire engines from Lymm, Warrington and Penketh attended reports of the fire on Mersey Walk near Westy Park.
An area of grassland that was on fire on the side of a river was attended by firefighters. They used What3Words to locate the area which was down a footpath at the side of the river and involved approximately 100 square metres of grass.
The crews established a water supply from the river to enable them to put the fire out. They used a thermal imaging camera to ensure the fire was fully extinguished before leaving and were in attendance for approximately two and a half hours.
If you have any information as to who is responsible for the recent fires, please contact Cheshire Police via 101 or online.
