UPDATED: A 27-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of drug-driving after a car was pursued by police along Knutsford Road, Warrington, earlier today.
Police arrested the individual after the car, which had been “stung” on Knutsford Road crashed near Westy Park.
The car had been seen driving at speed overtaking vehicles on the Knutsford Road swing bridge.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: “At 11.28 am on 8 May police followed a vehicle on Farrell Street, Warrington which then made off from police.
“The vehicle was stung on Knutsford Road by the swing bridge and carried on before coming to a stop on Lower Ash Road by Westy Park. The occupant of the vehicle left the car and made off before being detained by police.
“A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop, dangerous driving, possession with intent to supply Class B drugs, drug driving, driving without a licence, no insurance.
