A man is being treated in hospital after falling from a first-floor window during an ongoing police arrest incident on Mersey Street, Warrington, earlier today, Thursday.
A large police presence was seen on Mersey Street near flats on the former Chaplin’s nightclub site as paramedics also attended at the scene.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson confirmed: “At around 2pm today, Thursday 22 May, officers attended an address on Mersey Street, Warrington as part of ongoing arrest attempts.
“Upon entering the premises, a man was witnessed falling from a first-floor window. Paramedics were called to the scene and the man has since been taken to Warrington Hospital for treatment.
“Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and the matter has been referred to the IOPC in line with normal procedure.”
