Glazebury’s festive floral extravaganza

TALES of foreign travels and the everyday travails of modern life were threaded through Glazebury’s festive floral extravaganza.

Sisters Jill Cruickshank and Sue Leather were joined in All Saints Church, Glazebury by family friend Jane Roddy. Together the three created a stunning array of floral decorations fit to grace the tables and halls of stately homes.
The traditional holly and ivy were clearly evident but exotic blooms from the far reaches of the globe were brought to bear to create a total of eight displays that were later raffled in aid of church funds.
A total of £700 was raised through the raffle and the sale of the tickets. To keep the winter chills at bay there were refreshments served, including traditional mince pies.
The annual event has become one of Glazebury’s most anticipated. Each year the women produce some truly stunning creations. For many attendees the event marks the start of Christmas and has brought visitors from far and wide.
