ONE lane of the M6 southbound at Lymm was closed this morning as two fire crews were called out to reports of a lorry axle on fire.
At 06:29 crews from Lymm and Altrincham attended the incident on the M6 south junctions 20 to 19.
Lane one of the M6 at Lymm was closed while firefighters used a hose reel jet to dampen down the rear axle of a heavy goods vehicle.
A thermal imaging camera was used to monitor temperatures until the axle was fully cooled with the hose reel.
In another icndeint last night at 23:15 firefighters from Lymm were called to reports of a fire at Rixton.
Some 16 square metres of rubbish was well alight and put out using a hose reel jet.
