Man charged following town centre assault

POLICE have charged a man with possessing an offensive weapon and using threatening behaviour following reports of an assault in Warrington town centre.

At around 1.20 am on Wednesday 2 April, officers arrested a man following reports of an assault on Friars Gate, Warrington
Following questioning, Wisdom Zulu has since been charged with possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and using threatening behaviour with intent to cause fear of violence.
The 30-year-old of no fixed abode in the Ellesmere Port area was remanded in custody and was due to appear at Warrington Magistrates’ Court today, Thursday 3 April.
