WORK is to start soon on a £213,000 scheme to revitalise the play area on Culcheth Village Green.

The scheme will transform the existing play area into an exciting space with a wide range of mixed-age play resources for children.
Brand new additions to the play area will include a zip line, multi-play units, and new seesaws and swing bays.
Culcheth and Glazebury Parish Council is contributing £140,000 to the project.

Warrington Borough Council’s cabinet member for leisure and community, Cllr Tony Higgins, said: “It’s great news that work is about to get underway on the refurbishment of Culcheth Village Green play area. This is a fantastic project which will be a real asset for the local community, providing the perfect environment for young people to get active and have fun.”

Parish council chairman Cllr Keith Bland, said: “We know how important high-quality play facilities are in our communities, so we’re delighted to be investing in the Village Green play area, which is such a popular place for local families.
“This project will breathe new life into the site, providing a wonderful play space for children and families to enjoy for years to come.”
The project will be delivered by Wicksteeds Leisure, with work due to be completed in the summer.
