A 23-year-old film director from Warrington has written, directed and edited a short film which is to be screened in his home town.

“Sea Change”, a film by Edward Browne, will be shown at Cineworld in the town centre on December 18.

Edward was born and raised in Warrington, growing up in Winwick.
He is currently working in London, directing commercials for brands such as Barbour and Aston Martin but he also finds time to make his own short films and music videos.
“Sea Change” is a psychological drama about Alice, a lost and conflicted post graduate who has to decide whether to leave her home town to follow her dreams abroad, but stay and look after her widowed and dependant father, Roy.

Playing the part of Alice is Katie Louise-Buxton is also from Warrington.
The pair went to school together and Katie came up with the idea for the 34-minute film.

Edward said: “The film is set in the North West – in my mind it was always Warrington, although we never directly address that this. It was heavily inspired by the societies and people in the North West.
“For me Warrington has a stillness to it. The long rolling landscapes, the stretching pylons, the overcast weather, they make the more rural areas of the town feel desolate at times, yet there is a calmness in it. You feel at peace with yourself. Yet still it has a vibrant heart, filled with culture and activity. The bustling pubs and rich history that you feel when you live there.

“Not only are the locations of the film reminiscent of Warrington but the tone and pacing emulates the feel of the town.”
Edward dreamed of being a film director from an early age and hopes his film will inspire some local 14-year-old with similar dreams to “take the leap.”
