Drug user attempted to head butt partner after knocking over child buggy

A Warrington man was so irate while trying to grab a bag from his partner’s child’s buggy that it tipped over and then during an argument attempted to head-butt her, a court heard.

CCTV footage of the shocking incident was played to a court today (Thur) in which members of the public were seen rushing to help the 15-month-old baby and the mum.

Seconds earlier during an argument, Jordan Kennedy had gone as if to head-butt his partner but it did not connect.
Jordan Kennedy aged 27, of Manchester Road, Warrington, appeared in the dock at Liverpool Crown Court having admitted two offences of assault in Liverpool One on July 5 last year.
He also admitted possessing cannabis with intent to supply almost four months earlier.

Iain Criddle prosecuting, said that police carried out a search warrant at his home on March 16 and found cannabis, bags, scales, £420 cash and a mobile phone.
When his phone was examined messages were found “consistent with the retail supply to end users,” said Mr Criddle.
Referring to the later incident in Liverpool One he said that neither the baby or his now ex-partner were injured.

Sarah Griffin, defending, said that Kennedy has voluntarily taken positive steps and attended rehabilitation courses and has signed up for a further course.
He had been taking cannabis for medical reasons and is now on a prescription for medicinal cannabis but wants to get off the drug altogether, she said.
Judge Stuart Driver, KC, told him he took “a dim view” of his aggressive behaviour which had taken place while he was on on bail or under investigation for the cannabis offence.
He sentenced him to 12 months imprisonment suspended for 12 months and ordered him to complete 25 days rehabilitation activities and attend a ‘building better relationships’ probation course.
