LENGTHY delays were reported on the M62 near Warrington on Monday morning while a major clean-up operation took place following a multi-vehicle collision.
Lanes one and two of the motorway remain closed westbound at Burtonwood between junction 8 (Warrington) and junction 7 (Widnes) heading towards Liverpool.
With more than 4.5 miles of congestion motorists were warned to expect delays of at least 45 minutes while a major clean-up operation takes place throughout the morning following a large spillage.
It’s understood at least one vehicle left the carriageway following the collision.
UPDATED 1pm – The incident has since been cleared.
