A LYMM woman has personally raised £3,085 for local charity the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT) – by climbing the 4,167m high Mount Toubkal, in Morocco.
Carol Robinson achieved a life-long goal by climbing the mountain and raised the money at the same time.
Along with 19 other like-minded individuals, she trekked to the summit over a period three days, sleeping for two nights in a shelter at 3,200 metres.
Helen Crowther, from CAFT, said: “Each year we must raise in excess of £1,000,000 in order that we can continue to fulfil our promise to children who visit the farm.
“We couldn’t do this without people like Carol who work so hard to fundraise for our charity.  I was with Carol on this trek and can safely say it is one of the hardest things I’ve ever done – she earned every penny of her sponsorship.
“It means so much to us when people put themselves through so much to support the Adventure Farm – thank you Carol.”
Collectively the group has raised almost £30,000.
