FRODSHAM Weaver Vale Primary School is very excited about the links that are being built with a school in Zimbabwe.
Year 1&2 teacher Miss Dutton has just spent time out in Zimbabwe working with staff and children at Twin Rivers School.
Miss Dutton kept all the   and children up to date with her activities and adventures via Twitter. She shared fantastic pictures and comments about her trip that could be accessed on the school’s website.
Children in Class 3 were very excited to see that Sheldon, their class teddy, had been allowed into the cockpit on the plane.
Before Miss Dutton left for Zimbabwe she arranged for pupilsto write letters to the children in Zimbabwe to build up a pen pal exchange. Children wrote all about themselves, hobbies, interests and school life. They were very excited to receive letters back from the children at Twin Rivers.
Miss Dutton was also able to share her experiences of school life in Zimbabwe with the children.
Weaver Vale linked Miss Dutton’s visit to its weekly philosophy lessons. The whole school had chance to discuss, reflect and debate their own experiences of learning and how this may be different for children in Zimbabwe.
Staff and children at the school are very excited to meet Mr Muteta, the link teacher from Zimbabwe who will be visiting England. He will be spending time in school working with all of the classes as well as enjoying what Frodsham and English life is like.
