Nine man Town see red

NINE man Warrington Town lost out 1-0 in a close game at table topping Mossley as two players saw red.
With little to choose between the two teams Warrington’s left back Fraser Ablett was shown a straight red card after sliding in for a tackle on Mossley’s number 10 Sam Madeley after both players had just received a warning from the referee.
Despite the loss Warrington made Mossley work hard for the ball. Luke Holden went close as his shot almost beat the home keeper.
Mossley almost went in 1-0 up at the break as Mark Haslam tried to lob an onrushing Adam Judge but his shot went over the bar leaving the scores level at the break.
In the second period, it was a tale of offsides for Mossley as they were frustrated by Warrington’s backline for the early part of the half.
With 17 minutes to go, Warrington were reduced to 9 men as striker Kevin Townson (pictured right) saw red after picking up 2 yellow cards.
As the minutes ticked down and Warrington were hanging on, Mossley took advantage of the two red cards as Sam Madeley scored with just 6 minutes remaining to give the home side all 3 points.
Warrington Town will be looking to bounce back form a run of four straight defeats when they welcome Lancaster City to the Abacus Solicitors Community Stadium on Tuesday night in a 7:45pm kick off.
