FOUR teenage girls were searched by police following reports of pupils with knives outside Bridgewater High School, Appleton, earlier today, Tuesday.

It follows concerns about two unknown youths from another school being seen outside the school and reports of a conflict with a small number of pupils at Bridgewater High.

Cheshire Police confirmed they had attended the school at around 3.10 pm today due to concerns that some pupils from another school were going to turn up at the end of the day with knives due to a disagreement.
As a result, four teenage girls were searched by officers. But no knives were found and no crimes were committed.

In a letter sent home to parents, it said: “Earlier in the day, we received information that two young individuals from another school might attend our school due to a conflict with a small number of Bridgewater High students.
“Towards the conclusion of the school day, two unknown youths were observed outside the school grounds, prompting us to notify police again. In consultation with the police, it was decided to hold the students back while awaiting the police’s arrival.
“The police responded quickly and engaged with two individuals. We are pleased to report that nothing posting a risk to other students was found in their possession. Nevertheless, we will continue collaborating with relevant agencies to address their attendance and any disruptions caused.”
