Latchford’s unbeaten start to season continues at Wigan St Patricks

LATCHFORD Albion Giants’ unbeaten start to the season continued with a 16-48 victory at Wigan St Patricks A.

Despite the scoreline, Latchford were given a tough test and head coach Sean Bond was pleased with the result.

He said: “ This was definitely our stiffest test of the season against a very experienced side. They were physical and at 12-12 after 25 minutes I was proud of our reaction as we kicked on and took a good lead into the break.
“We had a good chat at half time and made a few adjustments which allowed us to take control and ultimately see out the game .
“Despite having a few key members of the squad missing, it was good to see our squad utilised and everyone who played contributed to a great win.
“Our co-captain Mike Lagar gave an 80 minute performance from people leading from the front giving us a valuable platform to work from.”
Latchford’ s tries came from River Cole (3), Jack Brown, Ryan Edwards, Callum
Lyon, Louis Norton, Marshal Hayes, Will Maguire, with goals being added from Maguire (4), Lyon, Theo Gabbott.
This Saturday will see Albion hosting Oldham St.Annes A, kick off 2.30pm.
