The national minute silence takes place at 12 noon and the Mayor of Warrington Cllr Geoff Settle (pictured) will be at the town hall to observe the lowering of the Union Jack flag to half-mast. The flag will fly at half- mast during the weekend.

In addition, Warrington will also be marking the minute’s silence at 10.30am immediately prior to the start of Warrington Walking Day at the town hall and will be led by the Rector of Warrington Revd Paul Wilson.

The Mayor said: “Our thoughts and prayers are with all those families and friends both in the UK and abroad at this very sad and difficult time.”

A Book of Condolence for members of the public will be available to sign from 12 noon on Friday (July 3) at the town hall reception, Sankey Street until July 10.

  1. Hope the good people of Warrington will turn out in force and show, again, that we will not let acts of terrorism stop the way we go about our daily lives.
Congratulations to Warrington Council for allowing us to pay our respects to those unfortunate victims.
We must never give in to terrorists.
