Youth hunted after street attack

POLICE have issued CCTV stills of a young man they wish to speak to following an attack on a 12-year-old boy in Bridge Street, Warrington.
The incident took place on Sunday, January 22 at around 3.20pm when two groups of youths were walking along Bridge Street and started to engage in conversation.
A member of one of the groups then chased the other group before launching a flying kick at one of them, grabbing him by the collar and then throwing him to the ground.
The victim, a 12-year-old boy, was not injured as a result of the incident but was left extremely shaken by the ordeal.
PC Graham Davies said police were following a number of lines of enquiry in relation to the incident.
“We are urging anyone who witnessed what happened or knows the identity of the offender to get in touch.
“That area of the town centre would have been busy at the time as it is a main shopping street and we are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area and might have seen something, which could assist with their enquiries.”
The offender is described as beingin his late teens, tall, of slim build and was wearing a red Puma beanie hat and a grey tracksuit.
