A late equaliser from George Waring against high-flying Guiseley gave Warrington Rylands a well-deserved 1-1 draw as they fought back from a controversial goal early in the match.

Guiseley, hoping to catch Worksop Town in second place of the play-off group, took the lead after nine minutes when Adriano Moke beat Luke Pilling from close range. The linesman flagged for offside but the referee deemed the player standing on the goal line was not interfering with play and awarded The Lions the goal.

Harrison Hopper landed badly after a midfield challenge, adding his name to the ever-growing list of players not available for selection, but the strength throughout the squad is such that they could still provide “an exceptional performance” according to manager Neil Reynolds.
“The pitch was difficult but there was only one side that tried to play football on it” he went on to say. His half-time talk told them that “… you can’t lose belief, you can’t lose hope and if you keep knocking on the door you’ll come back and get something.” And that’s just what they did!
Waring pounced on a poor Guiseley clearance on the 83rd minute to finally beat Joe Cracknell in The Lions goal.
“The play-offs are no longer possible but it’s still possible to win football games. There are four games left (this season) and we can still win those.”
“This squad is full of belief, hunger and passion” he said. “Every game we go into we want to win.”
Reno now plans to give the team Tuesday night off, coming back to training on Thursday ready for the long-awaited trip to Whitby next Saturday 12th April.
