WARRINGTON Rylands travelled to high-flying Guiseley determined to make amends for their disappointment at the feet of Ilkeston, and came away with a 2-2 draw.

Rather than being upset that they gave away a two-goal lead, manager Neil Reynolds stated that he was delighted with this squad and the performance they gave against a side that is full of quality players and almost certain to be in this year’s play-offs.
“We didn’t even have a squad of 16 when we set out this morning” he said.

“If it had been us who had come back from 2 down we would be buzzing in the changing room. It’s the same score and we’ve gone home with a point against a well-disciplined side.
Warrington’s injury list is long and it is hoped that they will be fit enough for selection to play against Chorley next week in the FA Trophy 3rd Round. Chorley are currently sitting second in the National League Nort.h

Ntumba Massanka scores Picture John Hopkins

The Blues were under attack as soon as the whistle blew for the start of the game but they soaked up the pressure and had chances of their own. An outstanding run by Ben Hardcastle saw him being barged off the ball in front of goal and the referee immediately pointed to the penalty spot. Hardcastle doesn’t missed these and Rylands took the lead.
Once again The Lions came out of the changing room to dominate play and once again the away side caught them on the break. A perfectly placed ‘assist’ from Hardcastle found Ntumba Massanka who had only just come off the bench. ‘Tums’ slotted the ball under a flailing Joe Cracknell to double the lead.

However, the home side continued to press forward and a wonder shot from Jordan Thewlis slammed past Pilling to smash against the back of the Rylands net
Thirteen minutes later a free kick taken by Will Longbottom floated over the heads of everyone in the goalmouth, hit the post and rebounded into the net for the equaliser
“We’ve been to Macclesfield and gone toe to toe with them; we’ve been to Guiseley and gone toe to toe with them; we’ve been to Scunthorpe and gone toe to toe with them” says Reno.
“We play to win”
This was made clear when Cole Lonsdale forced Cracknell to make an incredible diving save in the dying minutes.
Next up for Rylands is the away match against Chorley on 7th December where Warrington Rylands will meet their top-goalscorer from last season, Mo Touray.
