Firefighters called out to fire at cemetery

A fire crew from Warrington was called out last night following reports of a fire at Fox Covert cemetery at Appleton.

At 22:49 the fire crew attended at the cemetery on Red Lane to deal with a small fire, situated in trees and bushes. They used a hose reel to put it out.

Earlier in the day at 15:25 a crew from Warrington was also called to reports of a fire in the open on Sankey Way.

A small fire consisting of paper and cardboard was put out by firefighters using water.
