Market traders plan to summit Mount Snowden in aid of two charities

A team of 30 Warrington Market traders will be summiting Mount Snowdon the Sunday, April 21, raising money for Claire House Hospice and Warrington Youth Zone.

The market traders say they want to do more within and for the Warrington community.

Last year, Warrington Market traders took part in Warrington Run Festival, and raised over £1,500 for Macmillian Cancer. This time they wanted a bigger challenge and what better way to do it than challenge the traders to climb Mount Snowdon, the biggest Mountain in Wales.

The two charities chosen by traders are both youth-based charities working to help the next generation.

Alan Smith from A to G Music within the market has a very close experience to Claire House Hospice.
He said: “It’s wonderful for our Market to be in a position to help Claire House again for the second year running, I have a Child with medically complex needs and suggested Claire House again to my fellow traders which was a welcome choice.
My son Cameron uses the hospice for respite care a few times a year and they look after him, pamper him and take care of all of his specialist care. He absolutely adores going there, he has the opportunity to access swimming, music activities, and much more, they also have events for families to attend and groups for parents to access.
“Claire House is also in the awful position of having to help Young People and their families with palliative end-of-life care which they do with the utmost respect and professionalism, The special needs community we are a part of as a family have had some tragic losses and Claire House have always been a major factor in helping families through the darkest of times.
“They deserve as much funding and help as possible to keep up the amazing work that they do,I encourage everyone to dig deep and spare what they can to sponsor our amazing group of walkers to raise as much money as they possibly can.”
