Road closure for felling of hazardous trees

A road is set to face evening closures for up to eight weeks while National Highways fell hazardous trees near the M56 at Warrington.

The closures on Summer Lane will take place from January 26 for up to eight weeks between 8pm and 6am.

Warrington Borough Council has given notice it intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving on Summer Lane from its junction with Pillmoss Lane to its junction with Newton Lane.
The Order will be effective from 26th January 2024 for 8 weeks, between 8pm and 6am, as and when signed on site.

Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works. The alternative route will be via Pillmoss Lane, Hatton Lane, Daresbury Lane, Chester Road, Windmill Lane and vice versa. The closure is required to allow National Highways to fell hazardous trees.
