AN autism charity in Warrington has received a £1,000 donation from the Amazon fulfilment centre in the town.

The donation was made to Creating Adventures, a charity that focuses on creating an inclusive and caring community for those with autism and learning disabilities. The charity’s team provides a range of activities such as cookery classes, art classes and sports and wellbeing to support their members and improve their physical and mental health.
The donation will go towards purchasing equipment for the charity’s activity programme including microphones for the choir, art materials and small appliances needed for cookery classes. The charity will also use the funds to support a move into their new base at The Old School in Fairfield and Howley.

James Pitt, Site Leader at Amazon in Warrington, said: “Creating Adventures is a fantastic charity in our community, and it is our pleasure to lend its team a helping hand with this donation. We hope that this donation will help Creating Adventures continue to provide a fun and safe environment for people with autism and learning disabilities in Warrington.”
Jenny Allcock, Founder of Creating Adventures added: “Thank you to James and the team at Amazon in Warrington for recognising and appreciating the work we do for people in Warrington with learning disabilities and autism. We truly appreciate the support which will help us to make a huge impact on our community.”

Creating Adventures received the donation as part of Amazon’s programme to support the communities in and around its operating locations across the UK.
Amazon is providing students with online STEM courses as well as teaming up with charity partner Magic Breakfast and delivering more than six million healthy breakfasts to families across England.
