TWO fire crews using specialist cutting equipment helped rescue a trapped person after a van overturned at Daresbury near Warrington, this morning.

Shortly before 7.15 am crews from Warrington and Runcorn attended a single-vehicle collision involving an overturned van on Delph Lane, Daresbury.

One person was medically trapped inside the vehicle. Firefighters used an electric saw to gain entry to the van and helped release the casualty into the care of paramedics.

Oil spill mats were used to make the scene safe.

Meanwhile, in another incident yesterday shortly after 4;30 pm one crew from Warrington was called to reports of a skip fire on Windermere Avenue, Orford.

Firefighters used a hose reel water jet to extinguish a mid-sized skip well alight. Nearby properties were unaffected.
