A three-weekend crown green bowls competition involving 64 players at Eagle Sports & Social Club raised £210 for the Hopes and Beams charity.

Organised by John Garratt and Andrew Garnet, the competition culminated on Sunday with eight players returning for the quarter-finals.
After the quarter and semi-finals, Dave Penketh faced Lee Johnstone in a closely fought final, with Dave taking the title 21–18. The competition was supported by local independent funeral directors Hankinson & Molyneux, continuing the firm’s commitment to supporting clubs, charities and community organisations across Warrington.
Greg and Anthony said: “Eagle Sports & Social Club is about much more than sport. Clubs like this bring people together, create friendships and give people a real sense of belonging.
“That fits very closely with what Hankinson & Molyneux want to be about. We’re an independent local business and we don’t just want to be there for our community when someone dies – we want to be part of it and support it throughout the year.
“John and Andrew did a fantastic job organising three weekends of bowling for 64 competitors. Congratulations to Dave and Lee, and it’s particularly good to see the event raising £210 for Hopes and Beams.”
The tournament demonstrated the continuing popularity of crown green bowls in Warrington and the important part local clubs continue to play in community life.
Hopes and Beams supports children and adults with additional needs to keep active.
