Football club wins planning consent

APPLETON Football Club has won planning consent for a storage container at their ground in Appleton Thorn.
The proposal was approved by Warrington Borough Council’s development management committee.
It will be used to store goal posts and other equipment used by the club.
Although the site is in the Green Belt, planning officers said the container would be painted green and inconspicuous. It would be sited close to a dense, high hedge which would provide a screen between it and the nearest house.
The ground is between New Lane and Lumb Brook Road.

  1. With all the plans the council have for selling and building on our local GREEN BELT within their Preferred Development Plan etc I’m glad they have at least seen sense to allow a long standing local kids football club to have a container to store their goal posts and other kit close to their pitch which they need. Three cheers for the council for approving this one…..I mean how could the council refuse that ?
Here’s hoping the many 1000’s of new houses and other developments the council are proposing on OUR GREEN BELT LAND also have the condition of being “painted green and being inconspicuous and are sited close to dense high hedges which will provide a screen between them and the nearest house”….if only that was possible eh?
