Four to cycle from London to Paris for charity

FOUR keen Culcheth cyclists are taking on a charity challenge by riding  from London to Paris.
Paula Byrne, Sarah Norton, Caroline Tinkler and Margaret McCreedy will be among 50 riders taking part in the September event.
They said: “With two long distance rides from coast to coast across England already under our belts, we felt the 313 mile challenge was the perfect next step. We went along to a ride briefing with questions about logistics but came away inspired by the fantastic work of the four charities and determined to do our bit”.
The Moore Foundation, a charitable trust based in Warrington, has chosen four local organisations to share the proceeds from the ride. They are: SASSY, providing support against self-harm and suicide in youth; Warrington Youth Club, helping young people achieve, make choices and improve their lives and their futures; Hand on Heart, providing the equipment and training to reduce loss of life in young people to sudden cardiac arrest; and Brainwave, a centre in Birchwood that helps children with disabilities and additional needs to achieve greater independence.
To raise funds there will be a quiz night on Saturday, June 17 at Newchurch Parish Hall, tickets are on sale at McDees cafe on Lodge Drive or from Mags on 07968 715224.
There will be a “London to Paris” stall at Culcheth Community Day, selling homemade cakes and confectionery. Or, find L2PCulchethPedallers on the Just Giving website to make a donation.
