Motorist trapped after two-vehicle crash

A MOTORIST was trapped in a car after a two-vehicle crash at Stockton Heath, Warrington, early today.
The incident was in Ackers Road, shortly after 1am and involved a car and van.
Firefighters from Warrington and Stockton Heath had to use a winch to move the car to enable them to extricate the casualty from the car by removing part of the vehicle’s side columns.
The injured person was thenhanded over to the care of paramedics and taken to hospital.
In an earlier incident, a fire crew from Warrington went to Levens Close, Bewsey where wooded decking in the garden of a house had been on fire. They used water to damp the area down.
