Panto team raised £30,000 for rugby club

LYMM Rugby Club’s annual panto – which this year was eight performances of “Snow White” over two weekends, – raised £30,000 for the Lymm Grass Roots clubhouse appeal.
The sum raised delighted the panto’s cast – but with a target of £2m to buy land and build a new state-of-the-art clubhouse, there is still a long way to go.
Club  president John Hopkinson said: “Membership, particularly in the younger age groups, is growing so we have a long term objective to give them the best facilities we possibly can.
“The existing clubhouse is not sustainable so we are planning to build a new one but it is an ambitious plan. We can’t do this without the support of the community and the Lymm Panto is just one of the ways we engage with everyone, showing them what a great grass roots rugby club we have here in Lymm.”
The plans include facilities for rugby, hockey, squash and possibly tennis.
Anyone who would like to offer support, or any business that would like to connect with a membership of more than 1,500, can learn about packages including pitch-side advertising, sponsorship, corporate or private membership, or simply offering a donation, should contact John Hopkinson by email on [email protected]
