Armed gang raid store

FOUR men, armed with a mallet and a claw hammer stole cash from a Co-op store at Warrington after threatening staff.
Police today appealed for information from witnesses or anyone else who knows anything about the raid on the store in Dudlow Green Road, Appleton.
The raid was on Wednesday at about 8.45pm when three members of staff were on the premises.
The four men entered the store and grabbed cash and a large quantity of cigarettes and tobacco.
They fled the scene through the back door, running down an alleyway towards Willow Avenue.
The offenders were between 5ft 8 inches and 6ft tall and of slim to medium build. They all had their faces covered and were wearing dark, hooded tracksuits, and trainers.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or knows the identity of the offenders is asked to call police on 0845 458 0000 or the confidential Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111.
An 18-year-old, from Warrington, has subsequently been arrested in connection with the incident. He has been bailed pending further enquiries.
