A mental health group has launched a special appeal to support victims of the Marsh House Lane flats fire, which Warrington North MP Charlotte Nichols is backing.
The Walk and Talk Podcast has launched an urgent appeal to support those who have lost their homes and belongings following the devastating blaze on Rynet Court.
Calling for support the group posted :
“We are truly devastated to hear about the impact of the Rynet Court fire on Marsh House Lane. We’ve heard first-hand the heartbreak and destruction it has caused — families have lost not just their homes, but everything they own.
At Walk and Talk, we’ve always believed in standing shoulder to shoulder with our community, and now is the time to show up for our neighbours more than ever.
🧡 Donation Requests 🧡
In the post there are various drop off points and the following essential items to support those affected:
• Clothing (all sizes)
• Baby items (nappies, wipes, formula, etc.)
• Non-perishable food & bottled drinks
• Hygiene products & toiletries
• Bedding, blankets & other soft items
📍 Our Friday walk will also be accepting donations — the location will be confirmed shortly. As always, our amazing walkers will be helping to deliver everything directly to those in need.
This is a sensitive and deeply upsetting time for many families. Please share this post, spread the word, and donate what you can.
Let’s come together and be the town that lifts each other up when it matters most. Our hearts are with everyone affected.”
Supporting the appeal, Warrington North MP Charlotte Nichols said: “Thank you to everyone who has been in touch asking about how they can donate to those affected by the Rynet Court fire yesterday. Alongside the donation points listed below, the Peninsula Barracks will be open from 6.30 pm to 7 pm tomorrow, and the Warrington VIP Centre at the Old School is also happy to have drop-offs during their opening hours. Our community is our strength, particularly in a time of crisis and I’m so proud of the way that everyone has rallied around.
“Today I have spoken with the Chief Executive of Your Housing, council officers and other agencies to ensure the affected residents have the support they need in place over the coming days and weeks to rebuild their lives in the aftermath of the fire. If you have been affected and need help, please email [email protected]
Investigations are currently ongoing into the cause of the blaze and a 10-year-old boy has been arrested and released on bail pending further investigations.
